SAP is at the Standard Software layer. This is above the Operating System Layer & below the Customized Software Layer.
SAP is a complex software like any other ERP software. Knowledge is required at 2 broad levels - Product Specific & Module Specific :
Product Knowledge Of The Different SAP Suites, SAP Modules & SAP-Specific Concepts.
Module Knowledge - Within a specific SAP Product (eg. SAP R/3 or SAP B1), Technical Details of the different Module wise Objects eg. Menus, Tables, Transaction Codes, Configuration (Selecting Tables, Options as per Project Needs), etc.
