ERP Training - Time for a Re-Think ?

It is sad to know that inspite of horror stories of people not getting proper jobs after getting trained on ERP software, many people are still jumping on the bandwagon.

ERP Training is serious business, not a casual course to be done by roadside Training Vendors (if one may call them that).

Sadly, even the authorised training institutions of established global ERP Vendors mis-lead many people into believing that lucrative ERP careers await one and all.

This must change for the betterment of the Indian IT Industry.

ERP - Make Or Buy ?

I read an article a few days ago in the Express Computer that some organizations in India still are building their own ERP systems.

Does it make sense ?

I do not think so.

Just as cars take us from one point to another, ERP
systems take organizations from their Current Reality to
Future Vision.

We drive cars, we do not build them.

Organizations should focus on creating business propositions that deliver value to customers.

Not re-inventing the ERP wheel.

Unless, it helps you deliver a competitive advantage.
